Exhibit Rental Fees
$500.00 per gallery payable upon acceptance of Letter of Agreement
Level I and Level II rental is $1000.
Dates
One month rental beginning on the 2nd Friday of the first month and ending on the 2nd Friday of the following month.
Level I includes gallery space on the 1st floor including 2 adjoining wing galleries
Level II includes gallery space on the 2nd floor
$50 wall repair fee is required with each rental, due 1 week prior to opening
Installation & take down dates by mutual agreement between exhibit artist(s) & Gallery Staff. Gallery hours are recommended.
Union Street Gallery is responsible for
• Contacting local media with press release and jpegs provided by exhibitor, and posting event
on Chicago Artists Coalition and Chicago Southland Arts Association websites
• Placing notice of exhibit & dates on USG website and jpegs of art if possible
• Providing Gallery wall space in the rented galleries
• Staffing the Gallery during Gallery hours and opening and closing events
• Current hours are W|T|F|S noon-4pm. Hours are subject to change; renter will be notified of any change
• Opening event is 6-9pm and closing event is 6-9pm
Exhibit artist(s) is responsible for
• Invitations and mailing include USG logo, opening and closing reception dates and times
• Ads or notices to media
• Installation and labeling all artwork for exhibit
• Refreshments, music, flowers if applicable
• Guest speakers or activities
• Removal of all artwork and materials for exhibit or events
Publicity USG reserves the right to photograph all exhibited works for catalogs, educational, and/or publicity purposes
Sales
Effective May 1, 2005 Union Street Gallery will no longer take a commission on the sale of art. When a sale does occur the check will be made directly to the artist. Each artist is responsible for any state and local taxes. Each exhibiting artist must sign the Letter of Agreement. A 30% donation from any sale resulting from the exhibition is appreciated. Union Street Gallery is not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization. Donations are tax deductible; consult your tax advisor.
Insurance & Liability
Artists are responsible for work in transit to & from USG. USG provides no insurance for artwork while on premises or during shipping to & from gallery. Insurance is the exhibiting artist’s responsibility. USG will make every effort to handle art with the utmost care, safety, and professionalism, however, USG will not be responsible for losses or damage to artwork regardless of cause, either while on USG premises or during shipment to and from USG.
Shipping & Receiving Artists are responsible for costs of shipping to and from the exhibit.
