Union Street Gallery is currently seeking interns willing to work for experience. Internships are volunteer-based, unpaid positions. Non-students interested in our internships are also encouraged to apply. Union Street Gallery is seeking interns for the following positions:

Art Preparators/Assistant Gallery Administrator. Interested in gaining real-world experience in hanging exhibitions, packing and shipping art? Art Preparator work is in great demand, but usually only if you have experience. This position would be a commitment of 3-4 days per week. Intern will be responsible for assisting in the installation and de-installation of each exhibition as well as preparations for fall and spring national shows. Other activities include day to day operations, including gaining sponsorships, organizing for artists, communication with artists, working with curators, press outreach, mailings, archive work, gaining donations for silent auction fundraisers etc.

Please send a resume detailing your art-related experience and educational background including relevant course work; and a brief, personal statement which discusses the following:

1. Your long-term professional goals
2. How you feel the internship program at Union Street Gallery will help you achieve those goals
3. Your expectations regarding the internship please specify area of interest (art preparators, Management, Curator, etc.)

Also include at least one, three preferred, recommendation letter from someone who can attest to your ability to fulfill the duties of the internship. Recommendation letters should include all contact information for the author and be submitted with the application in a sealed envelope with the author's signature written over the seal.
