Artist Statement

Portrayals of a journey through time and memory have evolved in my work.  Many images mark passages or transition points conveyed in earth formations, flowing winds or ever-changing liquids.  I have an affinity for these elements. 

It is my intent that the viewer travel over the canvas through passages of color and suggestions of light. Color transcends time and reality.  Color passages are layered on the canvas.  Suggestions of light make water gleam, wind evident and the earth pulsate.  As metaphor, my paintings are life and the impressions left as evidence of our passage.
