In this body of work, I use religious and pop cultural imagery, as well as personal artifacts, to explore the role of family and tradition in my own life. I am endlessly fascinated by the things passed from one generation to the next, whether they are physical traits, personality quirks, beloved heirlooms, or ideas and opinions.
I use religion, specifically the Catholic faith which is so central to my family and my past, as a jumping off point for this exploration.
Through this work, my goal is to construct a personal space amidst a group of strong women and a spiritual world that I can feel comfortable in. |
