"The Artist's Way"

A Class for All Those Interested in Practicing the Art of Creative Living

1 Hour Free overview session, 7pm-8pm

12 Thursday Evenings 2 hour sessions, 7pm-9pm

  

Psychotherapist and creativity coach, Linda Whittaker, LCSW, will lead this class for participants who wish to nurture their own creative potential and unleash their own inner artist…whether that artists longs to paint, sing, parent creatively or lead a more joy filled live. Over the course of 12 weeks, Linda facilitates group discussions and sharing, as she guides participants through the inspiring readings and exercises.

Linda has facilitated the Artist’s Way groups for over 10 years and is committed to creating a safe and respectful environment which allows group members to discover/recover their creative spirits. Julia Cameron, author of The Artist’s Way text, believes we are all creative beings made in God’s creative image…that we are each naturally artists. Please join us on Thursday evenings this fall, and be a part of this exciting creative journey.

If you are thinking about being part of The Artist’s Way class, you are invited to a one hour course overview session on Thursday, September 24, 7pm-8pm. There is no charge for the September 24th class, but please pre-register.  All students are asked to read the first assignment (Introduction through the end of Chapter 1) before the October 1st class.

"The Artist’s Way" by Julia Cameron is available at local bookstores and online.

Mission

The mission of the Union Street Gallery, a not-for-profit corporation is to encourage and nurture emerging and established artists and be a resource for art appreciation and education to the communities that make up the Chicago Southland.

Vision Union Street Gallery & Studios is a not-for-profit arts incubator. It is open to all artists, emerging, mid-career and established. The purpose is to support artists by providing a professional environment for the development of creative expression, exhibition opportunities, promotion, and education of artists in the business of art. The goal is to link art with private, business, and educational communities to enhance awareness and education of the arts and culture.
