Members of the Midwest Collage Society will be showing their " true colors" as artists as they have taken on the challenge to create an art piece using only the color white. Of course, being a collage society, the members have experience in creating with all sorts of textures, shapes, materials and techniques. The show should prove to be very interesting, creative and very, very white, which should fit in with the Chicagoland winter forecast.
TO RECAP PAST MCS HISTORY;
The Midwest Collage Society is a small group of artists working in the medium of collage, which also includes mixed media and assemblage. The group was co-founded by Laura Lein-Svencner and LuEllen Joy Giera in April of 2003. Since that time, the group has been growing and exhibiting throughout the Chicagoland area. Our membership includes artists from all over the Chicago area suburbs and some from Indiana as well. The group's mission is to promote collage/assemblage as a fine art medium through education and exhibit opportunities for it's members.
