The Urban Box Project

Reception: Saturday, August 22, 2015

6:00 - 9:00 p.m.

For the entire month of July, Luis Sahagun, a local Artist along with two Bloom Township students will be creating street interventions, paintings, and sculptures entirely made out of materials excavated from Chicago Heights.

The goal is to increase the appreciation for the arts and create a cultural presence in our community.

In addition, a site-specific installation will be created with debris and objects collected from the city. The community is encouraged to visit and experience this LIVE process everyTHURSDAY in August.

The final exhibition will contain a collection of Luis' artwork, visual documentations of the street interventions performed by the TUBP and independent sculptures created from the collected rubble.

You may find in-progress pictures of this project on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter under #theurbanboxproject
