Event Opportunities Host an event in the elegant atrium and balcony Galleries.

Event Rental Rates

5 hours $500 (5 hours will include set up and clean up time)

Overtime hours will be charged at a rate of $100 per hour

An additional $50 cleaning fee is required with each rental

20% discount is gladly extended to non-profit organizations with documentation

5 hours $400 (5 hours will include set up and clean up time)

Rental Rate includes:

Use of the main gallery

Use of 2nd floor mezzanine and music stage area

Viewing of current exhibit based on availability

Viewing of resident artists studios based on availability, day, and time of event

Support staff on premises during event

Renter responsible for

  • Non-refundable 50% deposit due at time of booking
  • Balance of rental due 1-week prior to event

  • Dramm Shop Insurance required whenever alcohol is served

  • Copy of caterers liability insurance must be on file at Union Street Gallery 1-week prior to the event

  • Renter must clean and return gallery to original condition.
  • Renter may not move or remove art without permission of gallery

We are pleased to provide area resources for catering, rentals, florists, photographers, musicians, entertainment, or security.

All bookings are subject to availability

Union Street Gallery reserves to right to move or remove art from the rental area, as it deems necessary.

Exhibit Opportunities  
 

Exhibit Rental Fees

500.00 payable upon acceptance of Letter of Agreement

(if rental is Level I & Level II $1000.00 is payable upon acceptance)

Dates

1 month, opens on a 2nd Friday of the month; closes on 2nd Friday of the following month.

Dates are chosen from the availability of the Union Street Gallery calendar.

               

Level I is gallery space on the 1st floor, main gallery and 2 adjoining interior galleries

Level II, mezzanine gallery, is available for an additional $500.00

$50 cleaning (spackle, paint) fee is required with each rental, due 1 week prior to opening

  

Installation & take down dates by mutual agreement between exhibit artist(s) & Gallery Staff. Gallery hours are recommended.

Union Street Gallery is responsible for

• Contacting local media with press release and jpegs provided by exhibitor, and posting event

on Chicago Artists   Coalition and Chicago Southland Arts Association websites

• Placing notice of exhibit & dates on USG website and jpegs of art if possible

• Providing Gallery wall space on the 1st floor;

• Staffing the Gallery during Gallery hours and opening and closing events

• Current hours are W|T|F|S noon-4pm. Hours are subject to change; renter will be notified of any change

• Opening event is 6-9pm and closing event is 6-9pm

Exhibit artist(s) is responsible for

• Invitations and mailing include USG logo, opening and closing reception dates and times

• Ads or notices to media

• Installation and labeling all artwork for exhibit

• Refreshments, music, flowers if applicable

• Guest speakers or activities

• Removal of all artwork and materials for exhibit or events

Publicity  USG reserves the right to photograph all exhibited works for catalogs, educational, and/or publicity purposes

Sales

Effective May 1, 2005 Union Street Gallery will no longer take a commission on the sale of art. When a sale does occur the check will be made directly to the artist. Each artist is responsible for any state and local taxes. Each exhibiting artist must sign the Letter of Agreement. A 30% donation from any sale resulting from the exhibition is appreciated. Union Street Gallery is not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization. Donations are tax deductible; consult your tax advisor.

Insurance & Liability 

Artists are responsible for work in transit to & from USG. USG provides no insurance for artwork while on premises or during shipping to & from gallery. Insurance is the exhibiting artist’s responsibility. USG will make every effort to handle art with the utmost care, safety, and professionalism, however, USG will not be responsible for losses or damage to artwork regardless of cause, either while on USG premises or during shipment to and from USG.

Shipping & Receiving Artists are responsible for costs of shipping to and from the exhibit.
